Oil & Energy · Case Study · Led by Varun Vashisht (PMP · CBAP · PMI-PBA)
$8M Physical Security & Digital Transformation Portfolio
Global Oil & Energy client. Owned strategy, requirements, vendor evaluation, and 10+ enterprise programmes end-to-end with full audit traceability.
The challenge
A global Oil & Energy client operated fragmented physical security infrastructure across 50+ sites worldwide. Aging hardware, vendor lock-in, and no unified monitoring. Compliance gaps were accumulating and audit remediation was manual and slow.
The approach
Led full programme lifecycle from current-state gap analysis through HLD/LLD design, competitive vendor evaluation (Genetec vs. legacy incumbents), and phased global rollout. Maintained full audit traceability across 10+ parallel workstreams.
- Conducted RFP/RFI process across 4 competing vendors. Produced decision matrix and executive recommendation.
- Authored BRD, FRD, HLD, LLD, and RAID logs for each programme workstream.
- Coordinated cross-functional teams of 20+ across engineering, security operations, and third-party contractors.
Outcomes
- 99.9% System continuity across all global sites
- 100% Audit remediation closure within programme timeline
- $8M Annual programme budget managed within scope
Stack & methods
- Genetec
- Honeywell Pro-Watch
- Vendor RFP
- HLD / LLD
